The challenge
The commercialisation gap
- Strong technology still needs customers
- Commercial execution needs its own plan
- Lab success does not guarantee market success
The approach
How I support your venture
- From prototype to commercial plan
- Clearer evidence for investors and customers
- Connect technical progress with commercial execution
The founder
Deep-Tech Entrepreneur and Operator
'm Dirk Vandenhirtz. For 25+ years, I've worked at the crossroads of AI, robotics, sensor systems, and IoT, building precision agriculture companies and deep-tech ventures, not merely advising them. I translate complex science into commercial products that create genuine competitive moats in agtech, cleantech, and sustainable agriculture.
Trained as a biologist at RWTH Aachen, I've founded and scaled four ventures: LemnaTec, crop.zone, Zasso Group, and Tielsa. Along the way, I've raised over €120 million in venture and strategic capital. I understand, intimately, what's required to progress from prototype to product-market fit to global scale.
My portfolio companies have partnered with John Deere, CNH Industrial, ARPA-E, and the Gates Foundation. Before tech, I competed as an elite swimmer, collecting European medals and a world record. Resilience and discipline aren't management-speak to me, they're operating principles forged in cold water at 5am.

Technical Fluency
Fluent in AI, robotics, and IoT at architecture level. Beyond the buzzwords, into the blueprints.
AgTech & Precision Agriculture Insider
I know farm gates as well as pitch decks. Real agtech operations, real precision agriculture adoption curves, real experience from regenerative agriculture to digital farming.
Battle-Tested
Four ventures built from scratch, scaled globally, and exited. I've made the mistakes so you don't have to.
