Aphea.Bio and Bayer partner to develop

Belgian biologicals company Aphea.Bio has announced a strategic research partnership with Bayer to develop bioinsecticides against sap-sucking insects, a category of major crop pests.

The collaboration combines Aphea.Bio's R&D pipeline of bioactive metabolites from selected microbial strains with Bayer's global market reach, development capabilities, and commercialisation infrastructure.

Initial targets include fruit crops such as pome, stone, citrus, and grapes, with potential expansion into vegetables and row crops including cotton and soybean. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
