GROWMARK embeds AI agent in myFS agronomy app for real-time crop advisory

GROWMARK, the $12B farmer-owned cooperative headquartered in Bloomington, Illinois, has unveiled an AI-powered agronomy agent inside its myFS Agronomy app for the 2026 crop season. The tool represents the first cooperative-developed AI system designed to merge decades of localized agronomic expertise with real-time data streams. The AI agent ingests field-level data from soil tests, yield monitors, and satellite NDVI imagery, cross-referencing it against 50 years of GROWMARK crop trial results. It generates nitrogen application timing recommendations, hybrid selection guidance, and pest pressure alerts calibrated to individual farm conditions. What distinguishes the GROWMARK approach from commercial AI platforms like Farmers Edge or Climate FieldView is the cooperative's data ownership model. Grower data stays within the FS system and is never sold or used for commodity trading signals - a critical trust factor that has historically limited AI adoption in the independent farm segment. Early field trials across 180,000 acres in Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin showed that growers following the AI agent's nitrogen timing recommendations achieved an average yield uplift of 7.3 bushels per acre in corn, translating to roughly $32/acre at current prices.
