Texas-based Plantible Foods raised $35 million, comprising $25 million in debt via X-Caliber Rural Capital under the USDA Business & Industry Loan Guarantee Program and $10 million in equity from RA Capital, Piva Capital and existing investors.

The company extracts RuBisCO protein from lemna and says a new strain lifted yields by over 40%. It plans to raise annual capacity fivefold to over 1,000 metric tons at its Eldorado, Texas facility.
