Reservoir Farms in Salinas, California, is welcoming 12 international agricultural robotics startups in 2026. This nonprofit incubator, which broke ground on August 25, 2025, held its grand opening recently, attended by over 300 growers and ag leaders.
The Salinas facility offers office space, workshops, and 24 acres of commercial test fields for these startups. Reservoir Farms focuses on providing real-world testing environments, enabling young companies to validate and scale their agricultural technologies on functioning crop land, vineyards, and orchards.
This initiative aims to address agricultural challenges like labor costs and sustainability pressures, supporting the development of robust tools for growers. Partnerships with organizations such as Western Growers Association and John Deere are crucial for go-to-market support and testing.
Reservoir Farms is set to expand, breaking ground on Reservoir Farms – Central Valley in Merced, California, this June. The organization also plans further expansion across California and Arizona, with each hub anchored by leading academic and R&D institutions.
