Vivici secures €12.5M EIC backing to scale

Dutch ingredient startup Vivici has secured €12.5 million from the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator Programme. This blended grant-and-equity financing aims to scale market access and supply of its Vivitein™ Ingredient Portfolio of functional protein ingredients, accelerating innovation for customers and consumers.

Vivici, founded in 2023, focuses on making dairy protein from precision fermentation commercially viable. This technology combines traditional fermentation with biotechnology to produce proteins without animals. Vivitein™ BLG (beta-lactoglobulin) and Vivitein™ LF (lactoferrin) are already part of their portfolio.

The EIC support validates Vivici's vision to commercialize precision fermentation at scale, demonstrating Europe's recognition of this opportunity. This funding enables Vivici to move faster, meeting strong customer demand for its ingredients with increased supply and pace.

The EIC Accelerator selected Vivici as one of 38 innovative startups for funding, recognizing its transformative technology and strong commercial potential. This capital will unlock the full potential of Vivici's technology, scaling market access and supply while driving further innovation for its customers.
